How CAD Interoperability Reference currently handles website requests, browser-side search, cookies, and links to external resources.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes the current data practices of CAD Interoperability Reference (the “Site”). It is written for this publication as it currently operates; it does not describe the practices of software vendors, standards organizations, hosting providers, or other sites linked from here.

Information you submit

The current Site does not provide user accounts, file uploads, comments, contact forms, newsletters, payments, or a registration feature. It does not ask you to send us CAD files, project documents, model metadata, or personal profile information in order to read the reference.

If a future feature asks you to provide information, the relevant page and this policy will be updated to explain what is requested and why.

Website delivery and technical logs

When any website is requested, the hosting, content-delivery, security, or network providers involved in delivering it may process technical request data. Depending on their configuration, this can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer, browser or device characteristics, and security or error information.

These providers use such information to route pages, detect abuse, protect infrastructure, troubleshoot failures, and maintain reliable delivery. The Site does not use its published content to build individual visitor profiles. Exact processing, access, and retention depend on the providers and hosting configuration used to deliver the Site.

Search and browser storage

The Site’s search interface currently works in your browser against the index published with the Site. The Site does not send typed search terms to a first-party search account or profile service as part of that interface.

The current Site does not intentionally set analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, and it does not use advertising pixels or behavioral remarketing. Browser or delivery infrastructure may still use technically necessary mechanisms for security, caching, load balancing, or reliable operation. Those mechanisms are controlled by the relevant infrastructure and may be described in its own documentation.

External websites

Articles may link to vendor documentation, standards resources, research, government sites, and other external services. When you follow one of those links, the destination operator may collect and use information under its own privacy notice, cookies policy, and legal requirements. We do not control those practices and do not receive information merely because an external page is linked here.

Retention and privacy requests

The Site does not currently maintain a first-party account database or a database of submitted visitor profiles. Technical logs and security records held by delivery or hosting providers may be retained for periods set by their configuration, operational needs, and legal obligations.

The current Site does not include a dedicated privacy contact form or account area. If the operator publishes a privacy contact route, it will be identified on the Site. Requests concerning an external website must be sent to that website’s operator.

Rights under applicable law

Depending on where you are located and which provider handles the relevant information, applicable law may give you rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, data portability, or the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The provider responsible for technical delivery may be the appropriate party for a request about its logs or security records.

Because the current Site does not publish a dedicated privacy contact route, this page does not provide an address for submitting such a request. The operator should add the appropriate contact and jurisdiction-specific information before relying on this policy as a complete legal notice.

Children

This is a general technical reference. It is not designed to request personal information from children, and the Site does not knowingly operate a feature intended to collect such information.

Updates to this policy

This policy may change if the Site adds analytics, advertising, accounts, forms, file handling, embedded services, or other functionality that changes how information is handled. The latest version and update date will remain on this page.
